Drake Motel Here's What's Happening.......

Last few days we've had a bunch of folks up for family reunions, and the weather has been perfect, so just had a couple rooms open for those up fishing.  Did manage to get a few fishing pictures that I am about to add to the site.  The weekend fishermen were mostly out for panfish; hitting many of the smaller lakes in the area and doing pretty well.  Saw some Nice sunfish come through, good eater crappies, and a couple of walleye caught while targeting the sunfish.  As for walleye, the winds have stirred things up on the lakes, so haven't heard much from the Duck, and we haven't had the chance to be out the last couple of days.  Talked to a three groups who hit Island Lake and one group caught and released several walleye with all being in the protected slot range, another couple didn't fair well, and another angler did pretty well.   Again, our anglers were more into the panfish so none of them headed to Upper Red; did talk to a fishin pal of mine today who said that the winds stirred things up on Upper Red the last few days, but normally with that lake, give it 3 days to calm down and it will kick back in again...about time for the good monster pike fishing to kick in up there. Temps are going to get back into the normal range (average high is mid 70's; last week heat index' was pushing 100), pretty clear skies in the forecast, so grab the fishing gear and c'mon up and join us on the lakes!

Upcoming Dates September 6-Labor Day..last long weekend of the summer!
